3" White High Lip Trackball assembly

On November 3 2017 at 4:28:27 PM CST Jordan asked: Sorry in advance if this explanation/question is rather long. I have this trackball for an arcade cabinet that I've built myself. I've cut the connector off the end and wired the 8 wires from it into an Ultimarc Opti-PAC. I'm wondering now what I should do with the two Earth Ground wires that are attached to the trackball's casing. Can I wire these into the ground terminals on my Opti-PAC or do they have to go someplace else? And if so where? It's an all wooden cabinet with no specific grounding points all my electrical components are grounded via their individual power cords. 1 Answer

As trackball rotates at a very high speed they create static electricity that can introduce noise to the encoding process. The two green wires are intended to minimize those noise. Hooking it up from one of the common ground should be fine.
