Responsible for the strategic sourcing selection and operational procurement functions directly associated with the Companyís needs for parts and products. These parts and products are to be secured at cost savings and have delivery levels consistent with the needs of the Company. This position is further responsible for the timely planning, scheduling of receipt and inventory control of the parts and products.
Negotiate and source a complex range of items from domestic and international suppliers. Must understand BOMís and demand flow.Evaluate and compare supplierís proposals to determine most favorable pricing, negotiate payment terms and conditions.Minimize the companyís legal risk and exposure, and drive cost reductions by negotiating national supply agreements.Work with Engineering and Suppliers on the front end of New Product Development. Need to be a subject matter expert in your commodity areas.Responsible for managing our international freight forwarders (ocean and air freight).Conduct regular supplier audits and seek out opportunities to develop working relationships with new and existing suppliers.Conduct analysis to identify sourcing opportunities for cost reduction in domestic and international markets.Ensure management of proper inventory levels to meet target goals to meet requirements and sales forecasts. Must understand Forecasting algorithms and Safety Stock formulas.Evaluate and monitor inventory levels to determine and implement inventory reduction opportunities.Resolve supplier performance and supply chain issues.Partner with Customer Service and Supply Chain teams to achieve operational objectives of cost, quality and delivery. Develop a working knowledge of the market economics, and regulatory environment that may impact pricing, supply, or supplier performance of all commodities assigned.Assess the current supply base and support the development of sourcing strategies based on risk, spend and business unit needs.Participate on various corporate and divisional teams.
Bachelorís degree from a four year college or university.5 - 7 years supply chain experience required.Strong knowledge of MS Excel (Pivot Tables, V-Lookup, etc.)MRP experience necessary. Must understand BOMís and demand flow.Strong background working with International Freight Forwarders and consolidated ocean shipments.Experience in a continuous improvement environment.Strong knowledge and understanding of purchasing practices and issues.Experienced in Strategic Sourcing and negotiating.Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are essential. Able to work independently and as part of a team; have the ability to multi-task.Dedicated and reliable with strong organizational skills.Professional designations or Certifications by recognized Purchasing organizations (CPM, CPSM, or CSCP), preferred.
